Beautiful little book, part of an ongoing series, one volume of which has been published each year since 1903 by R.R. Donelley to be given to customers, stockholders ,and employees as Christmas keepsakes. The first time these enter the marketplace it's the SECONDARY marketplace. The color changes every 25 years -- this is from the navy blue series. Book measures 4-1/2"x7", has a gilded top edge and 264 pages. Illustrated. The foreword offers a sort of "State of the Union" in which the company reported that this book was its 55th Christmas keepsake and that it had purchased a prointing plant and equipment in Springfield, Ohio. Book tells the store of Wootton who at various stages of his life was a mountain man, scout, hunter and trapper, an "expressman and freighter" over mountain trails, a licensed trader with the Indians, and a rancher. MANY titles available from the navy blue series of the 1950's,60's, and 70's and several from the 1940's red series.
