a beautiful rebind -- cover in fine condition with an overall clean and nice text with only minor foxing scattered lightly. Two previous owner bookplates have been removed from original and placed again here on the front pastedown. The lower one is contemporary, but the one on top reads Earl of Brandon. a title in the Irish Peerage. It was created for Francis Bernard who was elected a peer in 1800, a year before this book was printed. He was followed by the Second Earl of Brandon, James Bernard, in 1835. The Earl of Brandon lived at Castle Bernard in County Cork which today is a ruin due to damage from the IRA in 1921. The book itself shows paisley exterior page edges and has several nice fold-outs at back. 398 pages. 1ST FL DISP ]
