This popular 19th century newspaper is quite large at 11" across and 16-1/2" tall. It appears to have been bound with other issues at one time, as there is one section at top which remains threaded. The cover depicts the swearing in of Honorable G. Blaine as Secretary of State. Harrison had just won the presidential election, so much ink was used discussing his inaugural address, his cabinet choices, settling in with his family in the White House, the departure of Grover Cleveland, and a picture of celebratory fireworks at the Washington Memorial. The other two things that jumped out were anarchist Sunday schools and the Sunday drink question which of course continued for decades. Newspaper is clean and has no tears. Other issues available for same year
