There are also two items laid-in, a calendar from the lLbrary of Congress showing the exhibit and a flyer which shows the character of Sho which means calligraphy or writing. Book was printed to accompany an exihbit which opened at both the Library of Congress and The Yomiuri Shimbun June 15 to September 15, 1984. In addition to the works of several artists the books offers three essays: Sho Artistic Crerative Calligraphy; The Role of Caligraphy in Japanese society; and Japanese Calligraphy and American Abstract Exopressionism/ book measures 11-1.2" square and has 187 pages Quite heavy.
