Shelf wear to boards and a slight browning to the endpapers and around the page edges. The dust jacket is chipped at the head of the spine, worn at the corners, and has a bit of edge wear. There's a large stain to the lower portion of the covers and inside of the jacket (not visible to outside of jacket). The jacket is now preserved in a Mylar cover with a paper liner between book and jacket. Stain is faintly visible to the first and last few pages of text block. Previous owner name on front free endpaper. The rest of the interior is clean. 128 pages followed by two pages of ads for Spalding tennis equipment. Line drawings (not credited) illustrate court situations and instruction made from photographs of tennis stars of the day (1920s), such as William T. Tilden, Helen Wills, William Johnston, Suzanne Lenglen, and others. A scarce and collectible tennis instruction book in the original dust jacket.
