[good sound copy, minor shelfwear, light dust-soiling to top of text block, one-time owner's written on both front pastedown and front endpaper; the jacket is lightly edgeworn, with very slight paper loss at ends of spine, one short closed tear at top of front panel]. "The romance and glamour of sunny Algiers form the background of ths entrancing tale of a stalwart Englishman and a beautiful Arabian girl with the skin the color of ripe corn, who sat in the 'Street of Women,' wondering about some White Prince Charming who should come and take her from the den of Kabash." An early novel by this prolific English playwright, screenwriter, novelist (of both adult and juvenile fiction) and sometime actor. Nice jacket illustration, but I can't quite make out the signature.
