The author's second novel; he continued to turn out gritty crime yarns with New York settings (including a number of paperback originals) for another decade or so. He appears to have stopped publishing around 1960, when he would have been only 49 years old; he also seems to have completely escaped the notice of bibliographers of crime fiction.
