(no dust jacket) [well-worn book, staining to covers, bumping/light fraying/moderate wear to all corners, spine slightly turned, soiling to edges of text block, offsetting and light foxing to endpapers and pastedowns, one-time owner's signature on front pastedown; front pastedown also bear a vintage bookplate ("Dollking") and a bookseller's ticket/label (Dymock's Book Arcade Ltd., Sydney)]. The Australian artist-author's fourth novel, a coming-of-age story about three adolescent boys. Lindsay was involved with the establishment of the Endeavour Press imprint, of which this book was its first publication; I've also seen it stated that the book was illustrated with his drawings, but this appears to have only been true of the first British edition, issued by T. Werner Laurie in 1936. (Just to be clear: this copy of the book has no illustrations, with is consistent with all library catalog entries I've been able to locate, as well as with the pagination (259 pages, as opposed to 277 pages for the British edition).)
