[minimal wear to book, but SEE NOTE about slightly "clingy" pages; jacket just a little bit rubbed/scuffed, very slight wear along bottom edge]. (B&W photographs) Nicely-produced album/anthology devoted to the life and work of the great Polish director, "published on the occasion of an Academy [of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences] Tribute to Krzysztof Kieslowski co-organised with the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Camerimage in association with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art." Includes: a foreword by Stanley Kubrick; three interviews with Kieslowski; four articles/essays by Kieslowski ("Author, Film, Reality."; "The Functions of Contemporary Film"; "Bergman's silence"; "What do I expect from a cinematographer"); a lengthy section (about half the book, photo-illustrated) entitled "Krzysztof Kieslowski on himself"; and a detailed filmography. [NOTE: There is something peculiar about the surfaces of the pages of this book (which was printed in Poland, for whatever that's worth) that causes them to somewhat stick together. In the process of cataloging the book, I peeled each page apart from its neighbor, with minimal damage, but I can't guarantee that over time they won't re-adhere to one another.] **** ALSO NOTE that additional shipping charges will be requested for international shipping of this heavy book, or for Priority Mail shipping in the U.S.; if this concerns you, please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order. ****
