"A novel of ecological nightmare," in which a flurry of massive earthquakes send parts of California tumbling into the Pacific Ocean, while also triggering "compensatory earthquakes throughout the other fault lines of the earth [that] set in motion giant tidal waves that flood the Gulf and East coasts of the United States and activate dormant volcanoes in the Caribbean." And then it gets worse, as "a new Ice Age threatens to descend on the North American continent." This appears to have been the author's only published novel; maybe he freaked himself out too much to be able to concentrate on writing another one.
