[nice clean book, just a touch of deterioration to cloth at base of spine; the jacket has a number of small tears and some shallow chipping along the top edge (including about 3/8" paper loss at top of spine), some surface abrasions at base of spine]. (4 B&W film stills) Comic novel about a young professor of Latin who "finds himself charged with showing the town -- New York -- to three women of widely different types": a rich young (but dowdy) widow; a 19-year-old millionairess; and his former college sweetheart who's run away from her husband. Basis for the 1925 Universal silent feature starring Reginald Denny, for which this edition was a tie-in; illustrated by four scene stills from the film, and with a wonderfully impressionistic (uncredited) dust jacket depiction of a New York street.
