[the book is tight and clean (except for the author's inscription) with no wear at all; the jacket shows just a touch of handling wear and a couple of surface scratch lines on the rear panel]. (Jewish Studies, Volume 6) Series (B&W photographs, facsimiles) INSCRIBED warmly to a friend and SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper. The substance of the book is a partial translation (and full Yiddish text) of a 1943 autobiographical manuscript by Israel Pressman entitled "Der Durkhgegangener Veg" ("Roads That Passed"), in which he "wrote of his growing-up in Minsk in the typical Jewish tradition, becoming involved in the revolutionary movement as a Jewish Bundist, and eventually being arrested and exiled to Siberia," and then drafted into the Russian army. Notes and historical context have been provided by Philip Desind, as well as a full index and a selected bibliography. ****NOTE that additional postage charges will be assessed for international shipping of this thick and heavy book; if this concerns you, please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order.**** Signed by Author
