[well-worn copy, with a number of edge-nicks, soiling and creasing to both front and rear covers, small tears at lower hinges; pages age-toned, binding intact]. (Popular Plays and Screen Library) Series (3 B&W film stills) Novelization of the 1926 Warner Bros. film starring Monte Blue and Marie Prevost, and directed by Erle C. Kenton. A note about the writer's credit: although the book mentions only E.T. [Edward T.] Lowe, according to multiple sources the co-writer was one Jack Wagner. (One of those sources also credits Frances Marion, although this is unconfirmed.) The rear cover has six small head shots, of Blue and Prevost and of the movie's other principal players (Phyllis Haver, Huntley Gordon, and John Patrick) and of director Kenton. These Jacobsen-Hodgkinson "photoplay editions" were ultra-cheaply produced, and relatively few have survived the years in decent condition.
