Vanity press novel about a group of Norwegian immigrants settling in northern California in 1900. The primary character is Jon Nordahl, the second son of one of the families in the group, whose life experiences seem to (unsurprisingly) track pretty closely to those of the author, who was (also unsurprisingly) a member of an organization called the Sons of Norway.
