(no dust jacket) [well-worn volume, front endpaper removed, publisher information on title page scribbled out with ink]. Essentially a reference and casebook on U.S. immigration legislation, in five parts. Part 1: "History of Immigration Legislation." Part 2: "Immigration Laws," containing the texts of "all immigration laws and executive orders at present in force," beginning with the Act of February 5, 1917. Part 3: "Exclusion and Deportation," presenting brief descriptions of numerous individual court rulings addressing the questions of who may or may not be excluded, and who may or may not be deported. Part 4: "Registration of Aliens." Part 5: "Outlines of World Migrations." The author, in his Preface, is pretty up-front with his opinion that only immigrants "who would make desirable additions to our population should be permitted to enter," those being of "a strong force of character and high civilization."
