[very light handling wear, slight curling of covers]. Trade PB Rather a curious "book" that's not entirely worthy of its subtitle, given that the account of the meeting that took place (late in the lives of both men) takes up nine of the book's 112 numbered pages. It's prefaced by some introductory matter about Renoir and Miller, derived from the co-authors' respective long friendships with them, and explaining how the book (and the meeting) came about -- but the "Miller meets Renoir" part of the book is over before the reader gets to the halfway point. The remainder of the slim volume is taken up with excerpts from both ladies' previously-published works: the Prologue from Nash's novel "By Love Fulfilled," about a young physician in the court of Catherine de Medici, and Chapter One from her book "Agnes Sorel, Mistress of Beauty; followed by the Introduction and Chapter Four from Rejaunier's book "My Sundays with Henry Miller." The actual account of the meeting between Renoir and Miller makes for interesting reading, and would have made a nice short magazine piece.
