[nice tight copy, minor wear at spine ends; the jacket is lightly browned at the spine and along the edges of the rear panel, and has a tiny puncture-wound mid-spine]. (B&W photographs) Libretto (no music) for the musical play about, well, Benjamin Franklin's visit to Paris in 1776 and 1777. The original Broadway production, which starred Robert Preston as Franklin (Preston with a capital P, and that rhymes with B, and that stands for Ben!), ran for a respectable 215 performances during the 1964/65 season. It was nominated for one Tony Award (Michaels, for Best Author (Musical)), but is mostly notable as the first Broadway musical set during the Revolutionary War, predating "1776" by five years and "Hamilton" by a lot more than that.
