Coronation Glory: A Pageant of Queens 1559-1953

(B&W and color photographs, prints) "The story and the intimate details of each Queen's Coronation, her feelings and her reactions, are vividly portrayed in this book, [which was published] on the occasion of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on June 2nd, 1953." Roughly the first half of the book is the historical look at previous English Queens' Coronations, with the second half devoted to the then-current "Great Day": background on the Royal Family, preparations for the day-of, and numerous photos of the event itself and surrounding festivities. Although one tends to think of QEII Coronation memorabilia as fairly common -- there were, after all, SO many celebratory publications issued in connection with her ascent to the throne, and everybody saved them, right -- for whatever reason this particular one seems to be somewhat scarce.
