(no dust jacket, but encased in a color photocopy of an original first edition jacket; see 2nd posted image with this listing and accompanying NOTES) [minor shelfwear, spine very slightly turned, one-time owner's name and date at top of front endpaper]. A sequel to the author's popular (and twice-filmed) 1921 novel, chronicling the further adventures of the title character, specifically "how he defied the Terror and fought for King and Country when the guillotine was monarch of France." NOTE regarding the dust jacket: this is NOT a professionally-produced facsimile jacket, but merely a color photocopy of a somewhat worn original jacket, which therefore reproduces a number of its visible flaws (mostly tiny chips, but also a small tear and some creasing at the top of the front panel); note also that the jacket copy is "pieced," with the two pieces joined together at the rear flapfold (this is essentially unnoticeable inside a new mylar sleeve, supplied).
