(no dust jacket, but encased in a nice-looking facsimile reproduction of the original first edition jacket; see 2nd scanned image posted with this listing) [light shelfwear, spine moderately turned, spine cloth somewhat faded and gilt lettering thereon dulled, tiny dampstain on top edge of text block, one-time owner's discreet embossed stamp on front endpaper (see Notes), vintage bookseller's label (The Satyr Book Shop, Hollywood and Los Angeles) on rear pastedown]. Huxley's dystopian classic about a future World State -- or, as the dust jacket designers chose to characterize it, a "Model T Civilization." Adapted twice (1980 and 1998) for American TV movies, and yet again (2020) as a 9-episode series on NBC's Peacock streaming service -- all that, just to prove the point that some books should just remain books. This copy is from the library of one-time MGM producer-writer Carey Wilson, with his embossed ownership stamp on the front endpaper. NOTE again that the dust jacket on this book is a FACSIMILE, and that its presence has not been factored into our pricing.
