The small sketches that serve as chapter heads are mostly uncredited, although two are signed by Ross Santee, Chronology; bibliography; index. Note that, unlike most volumes in this series, all the maps in the book are printed in the text proper (plus two endpaper maps); there is no map pocket at the rear of the book. NOTE again that the dust jacket on this book is a FACSIMILE, and that its presence has not been factored into our pricing.
