Wells's novel of a future utopian/technological civilization that rises from the ashes of a world beset by economic depression and a world war (which in some ways resembled the actual World War II, at the time still several years in the future). Basis for the 1936 British film THINGS TO COME, written by Wells himself and directed by the renowned art director William Cameron Menzies. Although not marked as such, this copy is from the collection of MGM writer/producer Carey Wilson.
