Significant differences are revealed and highlighted, presented in an accessible manner, and indexed to such crucial matters as Food and Drink, Bligh's relationships to his crew, and of course, the Mutiny, as well as other important categories. Sample corresponding pages of the two manuscript journals are illustrated as well as important manuscript material relating to Bligh's manuscript account of his voyage in the Bounty's launch - the forerunner to the published Narrative of the Mutiny (1790). In addition, in valuable appendices, the scholarly reception of Bligh's published accounts and bibliographical matters are contrasted and analysed.
