The title is based on how Rosa McDermott should wear her hair - plain for one boyfriend, but ringlets for the other. Surrounding this tempest in a teapot is a flurry of good old boy social life. Horses, hounds, and hares predominate. If you like Thackeray or Trollope or Dickens you'll enjoy this one. Bring along a sharp knife since there are several uncut leaves among the 522 pages. Hefty book will need extra postage.
