Original red cloth on boards. No writing or damage. Laid in is a handwritten letter in ink on both sides of a 6x8 in. note, dated 12.3.1957, and signed "Karlfried Durckheim." Printed at the top is Von Durckheim's name and Todtmoos-Rutte, Schwarzwald, Telefon Nr. 150. Von Durckheim held advanced degrees in theology, and is credited with introducing Zen Buddhism to America. At one point in his career he served under Joachim Von Ribbentrop, dispensing Nazi propaganda in Japan through the war years. 126 pp. Text is German.
