Two hundred copies manufactured and illuminated by hand by the Ediciones Vigia, in its Del Estero Coleccion. In its preparation it used white cardboard, acrylic paint, guano cardboard, white paper, craff; as well as printed papers. They were too used a wooden rod, cotton string and feathers natural; add small scraps of cloth for the flame of the oil lamp. Best known for the image of the bird-women, Zaida's work bursts with the richness of theme and purpose, from the sea-side houses, to the iconography of popular gods, to the pantheon of Cuban santeria, to the baroque work of the cities, towns full of beautiful and laborious bird men and women, overflowing with feathers, arrows, wounds, branches, and colors. She appeared on the Cuban visual arts scene in the 1970s. She is recognized as one of the key figures of contemporary Cuban art. Several periods are recognized in Zaida's painting. The first thing was the countryside with its tobacco houses, the children, the landscape. Then came the horses. Then came the circus and its colorful characters. Then, The Bird Women. Then came the triptychs on Afro-Cuban religion. Later came the peacocks; and finally 'The Cosmic Dance of Shiva' (2010) in which the artist, moved by Hindu philosophy, expresses the great passion that she gives to this oriental culture.
