Quarterbound red leather with similar color cloth. Title in gilt on spine together with further gilt decoration. Marbled endpapers. Former owner's inscription in ink on early endpaper in each volume. Each volume is square and securely bound with some light scuffing to leather along with light edge and corner wear. All plates are present with tissue guard though the engraving of Homing Pigeons in Volume 2 has been pulled free. There is some damage to the foredge of this plate not affecting the image. Overall this is a very attractive set. ; Vol. 1/4/2016; B&W Engravings, Photographs and Drawings; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 1287 pages; Originally this set was published around 1887 in two volumes; the "Times of Ceylon Edition" has been divided into four volumes. Many period photographs of period sports men and women. The very attractive engravings, done by Swan Electric Engraving Co. , show mostly game animals in the wild.
