I will always asscoaite Merita Bread with the TV show The Lone Ranger, and I grew up eating Merita bread, always the squishy white variety! Merita was first produced in my hometown of Birmingham and is now still a Southern brand owned by Flowers. This small booklet from 1948 focuses on the wide variety of sandwiches that could be made with one of four varieties of Merita Bread, white, thin slice, buns and wheat. There are fancy party sandwiches, lunch box sandwiches, main dish, open face, and other ways to use the breads, such as stuffing. It is ilustrated in B&W and has a color photo on the front of party sandwiches. Condition is VG+. It would be NF except for some residue on the back cover where there was something glued to it. ; Thin 8vo 8" to 9" tall; 24 pages
