This is a small, B&W photograph matted with an autograph of famed comedian George Gobel. Gobel, who had his own show from the mid-1950's to the mid 1960's, was one of the most popular comedians of the time. He was a frequent guest on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and many other variety shows. He was also a frequent panelist on Tic, Tac, Dough. However, Gobel got his start as a country singer on the The National Barn Dance on Chicago's WLS in 1937. This autograph, in which Gobel still uses the original spelling of his name, Goebel, came from the collection of a young fan named Millie who frequented country music radio shows and collected autographs, photographs and other memorabilia. This photo is probably a candid taken by Millie. The autograph has W. L. S. at the bottom. The entire set is in near fine to fine condition. Check out George Gobel on the Johnny Carson Show with Dean Martin and Bob Hope. It can be found on YouTube. ; B&W Photographs; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 1 pages
