Measures 14" x 22.25". In G to about VG condition with tears in the center, folds on the bottom, some stains, rubbing, and soiling, and some rough edges and water spots. Lots of little things, but still a great overall visual presentation. A terrifically novel vintage poster advertising the musical talents of showbiz legend Cab Calloway juxtaposed with basketball's world-famous Harlem Globetrotters entertainment troupe. This attractive, busy red & yellow (and black & white) window card has a great smiling photo of Cab, calling him "The 'Hi-De-Ho' Man," which he certainly was. Sunday afternoon, November 5, 1961 at Notre Dame University - adding a third legendary name into the equation, Abe Saperstein and the Harlem Globe trotters .Cab had been around a long time by this point. it had been 30 years since "Minnie the Moocher" topped the popular music charts at the dawn of the big band era. 1931 was also the year he first took the bandstand at the famous Cotton Club in Harlem, New York. But Calloway always remained relevant and admired, and even performed "Minnie the Moocher" in the film The Blues Brothers in 1980."Coming! In Person!" it says across the top. "Notre Dame Gym, Sponsored by the Notre Dame Monogram Club. Sun., 2:30 PM, Nov. 5." Ticket-buying locations are then given. And finally at the bottom, "Appearing as an Added Attraction with Basketball's Fabulous Harlem Globetrotters." Great Stuff. GV10; B&W Photograph; Folio 13" - 23" tall; 1 pages
