Velmer Gardner is robably not a household name but he spent many years primariy in Washngton and Oregon as an evangelist, beginning in the late 1940's. into the 1960's A good portion of his career was with the Voice of Healing organization. He wrote many small books which he sold at his evangelistic meetings, including this one about an encounter with Father Divine, whom he decribes as the "False Negro Christ." Father Divine comes under fire by GArdner as a Communist and a believer in mixing the races . I'm not sure why he visited Father Divine, since he declares from the outset that he was entering the house of the Devil. Half the booklet is filled with Father Divines own words and those of his believers, so Gardner may have been more helpful to Divine than to his own ministry. THe booklet is softcover, 47 pp, with some damage to the top right corner, probably from insectsand a small piece torn off the lower right corner. A tear acros the center of the front cover has ben repaired with arcival tape, as has a tear at the top edge of the title page. ; 12mo 7" - 7" tall; 47 pages
