PRICE REDUCED FROM $200 TO $175. The book of poems by Langston Hughes was first published in 1942; this is a stated 2nd Printing, done in 1945 when WWII had put restrictions on materials. There is a note on the copyright page stating that the paper that should have been used was not available but that it was better to use the best available at the time rather than have Hughes' poems go out of print. The book is illustrated with B&W drawings by E. McKnight Kauffer, who was also responsible for the typography and design of the book. Condition is VG+ with light shelfwear. There is a former owner's bookplate and a Langston Hughes stamp on the front pastedown and another owner's label on the back pastedown. ; B&W Drawings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 124 pages
