Green cloth with gilt titles in gilt rectangle; similar design on spine. Gilt top foredge. Some edge and corner wear, but book is square and securely bound. Folded maps of Boston and vicinity still present, one in each pocket, front and back. Both pockets have short tears. Front pocket has library bookplate and there is evidence on bottom of spine where call numbers have been removed. But there is no other indication that this book was in a library. The book is square and securely bound. ; B&W Illustrations + 2 Maps; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 770 pages; Biography of Eliot one of America's foremost landscape architects. The back of the title page has 1902, so I assume this is a second printing. Early copies of this work with both maps and in quality condition are difficult to find.
