DJ and boards show shelf wear, short tears, chipping and creasing. ; Tight solid book, hinges intact, dustjacket in Mylar, unclipped. ; 8.8 X 5.7 X 1.0 inches; 211 pages; "This is the story of the Monitor Gold Mining and Trading Company, an organization of 16 Minnesotans who went to the Canadian Klondike region in the late 1890s to prospect for gold. It is based on diaries & letters written by the men during their venture. Most of them were Scandinavian, recent immigrants to America and a number of their letters were written to Nye Normanden, a Norwegian language newspaper, published in Minneapolis. The leader of the company was Lars Gunderson, grandfather of the author. This book was issued under a joint arrangement between the University of Minnesota and the Norwegian-American Historical Association." (jacket blurb)
