Howard Pyle is best noted for his art -- especially his book on pirates -- but here he not only made the art, but also wrote the text. The book came out in 1954 and was so popular that it was still running through the press in 1968, the year this book was sold. There are a dozen stories here which Pyle chose from the Robin Hood literature to be of interest to children. I think adults would like it too -- great fun to read aloud by the fire on a winter's day eve. the book measures 5-3/4" x 8" and has 212 pages. The dustjacket is already covered with brand new mylar.
