Christmas keepsake. Consists mostly of an imaginative reconstruction by Biddle of conversation at a Christmas dinner at the Lambs' attended by their literary friends. Based on William Hazlitt's essay entitled: Of persons one would wish to have seen. Includes facsimile of letter from Lamb to William Wordsworth on loose sheet. 36-page pamphlet, with facsimile letter laid in at rear. Card-stock wrappers have come loose and are tape-repaired along split seam. All contents intact and unmarked, although there is tape residue where facsimile letter was mounted by publisher (tape lost in the meantime, leaving a dark stain.) Overall this copy is better than acceptable, but is showing its age.
