Re/mapping the Occident attempts to create a collision of differing forms and narrative structures by juxtaposing voices not ordinarily found within the same covers, voices often in conflict with one another. What follows are the replies the editors received when they asked writers to respond in any form. The diverse writers included Kathy Acker, Ann Banfield, Omar Castaneda ,Jewell Gomez.
