Yankilevsky has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art. He is largely known for his participation in the Soviet Nonconformist Art movement of the 1960s through the '80s. His most famous works are probably his triptychs, works that are difficult to classify, occupying a unique middle ground between painting, and sculpture.
