Hardcover in scarce DJ, Revised British Edition 1951 Iliffe & Sons London 239 pages. Very Good in a VG DJ. Just a hint of shelf/edge wear to brown cloth boards with gilt titles-two corners bumped. Minor shelf/edge wear to un-clipped DJ-now in mylar. No previous owner marks, no notes-all pages are clean and crisp with a touch of foxing to the textblock edges. 239 pages including index, chronology of important dates in motor cycling (1885-1949) and over 100 vintage B&W photographs. The development of motor cycles, their use and technological advances, from the first primitive machines of 1896 to the latest models of 1950 are covered in this history, which in turn examines their employment for sports, recreation and transport in both world wars. The author Ixion, was a staff member of "The Motor Cycle," Britain's oldest magazine devoted to motorcycles and dates back to 1903. Any motor cycle enthusiast will enjoy this history.Scarce, especially in DJ and a very handsome copy. LOC SSS-04
