Author was a member of the faculty staff of the University of Detroit and Wayne State University, and a visiting scholar at Columbia University and the University of Warsaw. He also held the Coe fellowship at the University of Wyoming. Gift inscription to previous owner on inside front cover with about 20 different signatures following (Wilson Middle School Staff of Detroit gift, where the author was the prinicipal since 1973). If not for the multitude of signatures, this book would be Near Fine. Highly original, accurate, objective and the first of its kind in english. Lots of local history and family names here. Not your usual history of Detroit. Highly Recommended. LOC SSE-05
