Softcover,1944, Daitoa Shuppan Kabushiki Kaisha, 218 pages. Very scarce. Condition Good - No Dust Jacket. Softcover in illustrated wraps with black spine and white titles. Significant shelf/edge wear to wraps with scuffing and soiling - corners bumped- spine significantly worn so that bottom two inches are unreadable. Moderate foxing to wraps and edges of text block with small stain on bottom edge. Gift inscription to prior owner on FFEP. All pages are clean and intact with no markings. Two fold-out maps are unmarked and intact. One depicts the routes of the Baltic Fleet - the other depicts the positions of Russias sunken ships. A rare and fascinating account of the Battle of the Sea of Japan in May 1905 during the Russo-Japanese War. Both sides had early wireless telegraphy. The German equipment used by the Russians was problematic. The Japanese were advantaged by using their own equipment. The battle was humiliating for Russia and effectively ended the Russo-Japanese War in Japan's favor. LOC SSS-17
