Minor shelf/edge wear to brown cloth illustrated boards (yellow,green and black) - corners lightly bumped with a touch of wear. Lacking the scarce DJ. No previous owner markings. Frontispiece remains protected by onion skin with 5 additional intact color illustrations by Denman Fink. Text pages are intact and unblemished except a few which show some scattered soiling along margins. There is some corner-creasing on a few pages and a few others show some page wrinkling -- neither affects the readability of the text. Authors third novel. The story is of an Arctic enchantress, who captivates Lieutenant Burrell of the United States Army. Set in the time of the Alaskan Gold rush. Story was filmed three times as a silent movie.
