Volume 1 - The Shadow Of A Crime, The Deemster, 540 pages, Volume 2 - The Bondman, The Blind Mother, The Confession, 403 pages and Vol 3 - A Son Of Hagar, She's All The World To Me, 480 pages. All 3 volumes are Very Good. Minor shelf/edge wear to Carmel brown decorated boards - corners sharp with a touch of wear to the tips. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. All three have the frontispiece illustration intact. NOTE: The text is somewhat small and may be hard for old eyes to read. Sir Thomas Henry Hall Caine CH KBE (14 May 1853 31 August 1931), usually known as Hall Caine, was a British novelist, dramatist, short story writer, poet and critic of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Caine's popularity during his lifetime was unprecedented. He wrote fifteen novels on subjects of adultery, divorce, domestic violence, illegitimacy, infanticide, religious bigotry and women's rights, became an international literary celebrity, and sold a total of ten million books.
