Large Hardcover, 1956 Miller Publishing Unpaginated. Very Good+, No DJ - as issued. Just a touch if shelf/edge wear to textured light blue cloth boards with black titles and two chevrons on the front cover - corners sharp. Photographic endpapers. All pages are clean and unmarked. Only flaw is some foxing to the verso pages of the endpapers and the rear cover has a few faint smudges. Well done book offers insights into Ft. Carson's (Colorado) 9th Infantry Regiment three years after the end of the Korean "Police Action". The 9th Infantry Regiment is one of the first units authorized in the United States Army. It first appeared as a result of the Act of 16 July 1798, that authorized twelve additional regiments of infantry, in January 1799. Its nickname is "Manchu" (which it earned in the Chinese Boxer Rebellion at the beginning of the 20th century) and its motto is "Keep Up The Fire! ". They fought bravely from its inception through Pork Chop Hill and modern times in Iraq. B&W photos throughout. Printed on high-quality heavyweight photographic paper. A very handsome vintage copy.
