Vintage Hardcover in the scarce DJ, First Edition 1935 Macmillan 288 pages. Very Good+, in a VG DJ. Minor shelf/edge wear to grey cloth boards with black spine titles - corners sharp. Only flaw is light edge fading to boards and a very slight shelf lean. Minor shelf/edge wear, one chip to rear panel and some tiny edge chipping to scarce original clipped DJ - now in mylar. Price on DJ still shows. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Author's first novel set in Charleston, South Carolina of which he was a native. From the DJ: In this novel there are all the superstition, the primitive fanaticism, the sensuality, light-heartedness and easy humor of the black man. Very scarce in any condition.
