Vintage Hardcover, 1931 Aviation Register Chicago, IL 226 pages. Very Good, No DJ - as issued. Minor shelf/edge wear and rubbing to black cloth boards with gilt titles and illustration (of aeroplane landing under the light of a tower on a runway) - corners lightly bumped. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. This book is a directory and catalogs every airport, airline, pilot, airfield, air travel company, airport design, construction and management company, flying school, engine builder in the United States (in 1931) and much more including Canadian and Foreign Aviation sources. Filled with names and addresses and vintage ads for companies supplying services to the early aviation business. Also listed is the full membership of The Caterpiller Club from 1919 up to 1931. The Caterpillar Club is an informal association of people who have successfully used a parachute to bail out of a disabled aircraft. After authentication by the parachute maker, applicants receive a membership certificate and a distinctive lapel pin. "Life depends on a silken thread" is the club's motto. Very Scarce. No copies online and one edition in 16 libraries. OCLC#9313666.LOC SSM-10
