Vintage Hardcover, Stated First Edition, 1955, E.P. Dutton & Co, Inc, 191 pages. Very Good, no DJ. Not an Ex-Library copy. Minor shelf/edge wear to yellow cloth boards with black titles and accents - one corner has a tiny bump, the others are ok with wear to the tips. minor offsetting to endpapers. no previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Another great effort by Scott Meredith as Editor. This excellent saddlebag (number 4 of 6) of western stories includes "War Party" by James Warner Bellah. The story first appeared in The Saturday Evening Post June 19, 1948. It was the basis for the John Ford film "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" starring John Wayne, Joanne Dru and Ben Johnson. Another story "The Bretnall Fued was supposed to be filming at Columbia but I can't find any other evidence except for Scott Meredith mentioning it in the intro for the story. Believe me, all the stories are very, very good.A very respectable First Edition minus the DJ.LOC
