Lower half has some creasing and rolling. ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 1 pages; Broadside of program for a show by the New Orleans Minstrels group, founded by Joseph Gorton in 1867. This show took place around 1885 (the broadside is not dated. ) In 1882 a Corning, NY newspaper references George Franckum's Clarinet Solo (included in this program. ). Hank Goodman, a performer listed on the program, retired in 1887; this show took place before or during that year. Show includes a play called "The Two Roses"featuring" Clem, a Southern Darkey." The importance of minstrelsy in the development of blues, jazz and country music is often downplayed or ignored.
