Binding is quarterbound leather with brown marbled paper. Much wear and aging including much interior toning and an old dampstain that affects the bottom and top outer corners, but not text, of interior pages. The volume is square and securely bound. Good to good minus condition. ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 764 pages; Bound Volume XX of the Atlantic Monthly with issues from July to December of 1867. My interest in this volume has been primarily an article entitled Stephen C. Foster and Negro Minstrelsy by Robert P. Nevin, which is an early account of the minstrel tradition. Of course there are numerous articles on many different subjects.
