This is the story of a young Chicago Irish man who struggles greatly during the early part of the 20th century. Signed by author on a leaf near front of volume. Includes illustrations by Mitchell Hooks and a special introductory note by the author. Franklin Library "Notes from the Editors" booklet about this work is included. Spine titling, elaborate decorations to covers and spine, and textblock edges all in bright gilt. Interior leaves printed on high-quality papers.
